No. The course starts from the camera in your hands and the light in the room. Every lesson says what you need before it starts, and the first homework is made to be done with a phone.
A finished editorial story: a mood board, a call sheet, a lit portrait set and a six-picture series ready to send to a DEPO magazine's open call — the same path our photographers, stylists and models take on real shoots.
Video lessons, downloadable call-sheet and mood-board templates, light diagrams for every set-up, a private thread with the other students, and feedback on each homework from a working DEPO photographer.
About six weeks at two evenings a week. Lessons stay open, so you can go faster or pause between sets — nothing expires.
No credits are needed for the lessons. Sending your final series to a magazine's open call uses the usual DEPO submission, which is free on every plan.
Each module ends with one small brief. You upload the pictures to your DEPO portfolio, tag them with the module, and a mentor answers in the thread within three working days.
No. Homework is about trying the set-up and saying what you noticed. Mentors look at the decisions you made — light, framing, styling — not at the gear you own.
A course achievement on your profile, the finished series in your portfolio, and a shortlist of open calls that fit your pictures.
